Morning ride on Grant’s Trail
Great ride this morning. Grant’s Trail, a rail trail from Kirkwood to Lemay, is the perfect place for non-elite cyclists like me. Not too many crossings, smooth pavement with mile markers, and even a few water stations. At 6 AM, it wasn’t crowded (smart people were still in bed), and the best part is we got our workout in before our workday started. It seems that sometime in the late summer, I start procrastinating my morning workout, until it’s too hot or too late or too fill-in-the-blank. With the cooler weather these past weeks and a vacation, I’d given myself full permission to slack. (Thank goodness for pools.)
So when my friend, Ann, called about an early ride, I took it as a sign that it’s time to get back on track…Get it? Rail trail joke!
