Wash and Eat

If you're not a fan of eating dirt and spray wax, wash your fruits and veggies, including the ones you peel, before you eat them. Bacteria can transfer just as well from the throw away outer layer (grapefruit, pineapple, cantaloupe) when you slice through or touch it. Even organic fruits have natural pesticides, soil, and unknown germs from transportation. A simple cool water bath will work for most foods. If the skin is highly textured use a brush or towel. No water close by? Rub it clean with a paper towel. And maybe wash all your fruit when you bring it home so it's not an issue in the future.

Just keep eating the fresh stuff.
