Oatmeal in Summer?

It’s not my Go To breakfast in summer, but I’ve wanted to try steel cut oats for awhile. And since blueberries are in season and the perfect pairing, I couldn’t wait. Steel cut oats look like little bits of grain, not like the rolled oats we usually see. They’re whole oat groats (the kernel inners) that are cut into 2 or 3 pieces with a steel blade. (Clever name, eh?) They take longer to cook than the rolled variety, but are definitely worth the wait. A much heartier, nuttier taste and combined with sweet blueberries set my morning on an energetic path.
