Homemade almond butter
Yes, another incredible story of what a Vita Mix can do! I no longer have to read labels to see what foreign substances are found in my “natural” peanut butter. Now I make my own with nothing but raw nuts (and a little oil if it’s too dry). I probably could have done this in a food processor all along, but this just seems so easy. And I can experiment with different nut combinations. I also played with different oils for my almond butter. Since almonds are less oily than peanuts or cashews, I tried adding some sesame oil. Not a good idea for sure! The sesame overtook my fresh almond flavor, leaving a nasty aftertaste. So I used it in my stir fried veggie dishes. Glad I only made a cup!
